My life with Norman Granz, the greatest jazz producer ever, Dennis Munday

Reminiscing In Tempo is a personal and highly individual account about the time Dennis Munday worked with Norman Granz, and some of the greatest jazz artists of all time; Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Oscar Peterson, Joe Pass, Roy Eldridge, Dizzy Gillespie, Zoot Sims, and Milt Jackson. Written from an insider’s perspective, the book offers the reader a rare view of working with these giants of jazz and the greatest jazz producer in the world. During this period, Dennis was known as ‘Norman’s man in London’, and as well as having a good business relationship, he became friends with the musicians featured. The book is character and story led, and many of the anecdotes will be new to jazz fans and have never been in print before. Dennis also has a collection of rare and previously unseen photos of the artists from the 1975 and 1978 Montreux Jazz Festival. Alun Morgan, one of Britain’s leading jazz critics has written a foreword for the book. Alun has written over 3000 sleeve notes and has been one of the most respected commentators on jazz music in the world for more than 40 years.
